Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) chose, of all places, New York City to show off two new trucks. One is the first Jeep pickup since 1992. The 2020 Gladiator comes in a convertible version; the windshield folds and the doors also come off, so it can really be driven al fresco. As the world’s only convertible truck, it’s certainly unique.

The other model, the Ram 3500 Heavy Duty with diesel power, may not be on your radar, but it’s likely to be highly useful—especially if you have big hauling needs. For towing up to 35,000 pounds, the Heavy Duty offers a humongous 1,000 foot pounds of diesel torque to get the cargo moving. In the bed, the truck can carry more than 6,500 pound of payload. Large horse trailers, off-road vehicles and motorcycles, travel trailers, enclosed classic car transporters, even an outbuilding or two—for all that and more, a Heavy Duty could be invaluable.
